(Sorry for the bad lighting. It's early morning and the sun is just coming up)
I did it! I painted the terrible dark brick in our family room. I went with a historical cream and I love it. Thank you all for encouraging me to go forward with it. Now I'm turning my attention to the other three walls of the room. I'm going with a shade of blue/green/grey. I think it will warm up the room and really pop against all of the wood and silver in the room. I also need to purchase new drapes but I haven't seen what I'm looking for yet. There is hardwood under the carpet (this is the only full carpeted room in our home) but the former owners just put this carpet down last year so I'm waiting for it to wear out before I rip it up and expose the gorgeous wood underneath. I can't wait:) I'll post more photos when I'm finished.
The painted brick looks fresh and updated! I am hoping to finish my fireplace this week, as we have company coming next Wednesday. The chair next to the fireplace has great lines, by the way.

I love it! I love painted fireplace bricks! It looks awesome! I love your living room you'll have to show us some more pics as you add the new paint colors! Are you going to use some Restoration Hardware paint colors!?!
We painted our fireplace about a year or two ago and it looks so much better with our white slipcover couches and overall decor in the family room! I just love painted bricks!
So cool you have hardwoods underneath that carpet just waiting on you! I'm wishing and hoping and dreaming of the day I get the okay to get hardwoods installed in my house!
Way to go on the paint project! :)
