It's June already!!! This year has been full of so much change and so much fun. Now that summer is upon us I wanted to update.
- There is a 7 year old in our house! ERH turned 7 last week. Instead of a party, we went to Chicago for the weekend and hit American Girl, went swimming, had manicures and had ERH's first tea. It was a wonderful vacation.
- We spend time each day tending our new landscape. I love gardening. I can not wait to do more.
- I finally broke down and watched Season 1 of Downton Abbey. I was immediately hooked and watched Season 2 the next day. It is a fantastic show.
- Pete is taking golf lessons through the rec center. He had his first class today (with friends Logan and Taylor). He did SO well. I think he may have found something he will enjoy for years to come.
- We have been visiting my in-laws (who may as well be parents to me, I love them so much) and my Mom and her husband (who are absoultely amazing) about once a week. We LOVE IT! We also get to see my husbands older brother and his wife often. There is nothing like family. We are so blessed.
- We move next Tuesday. I don't want to think about it. I am so excited and yet exhausted thinking about moving again. Thankfully 50% of our home is still packed in boxes from Ohio.
- I am leading a summer Bible study at my home starting in late June. We will study Mark. I've been doing the prep on it and W.O.W. Mark is seriously convicting. I know I will be stretched and I know I will learn a lot.
- My husband is going gangbusters at his job. He is happy and that makes me happy. And he is a natural. I am proud.
- Our home is on "show" right now with the Tour of Homes. It's fun to see all of the people walk through and hear their comments.
- My friend Kristen is still alive but she sleeps most of the time now. This is one of my great heartbreaks of this year. Oh how I miss her already.
- The weather is too cold for the pool. The kids ask at least 12 times each day. It needs to be 80 degrees for me to even consider going to the pool. (I know, I am a whimpy mom). I have been taking the them for ice cream at least weekly, which we all enjoy.
- I am watching the French Open and LOVING IT.
- I can't wait to get the tent out so the kids can do some backyard camping. I love backyard camping because my sweet husband sleeps with them outside. I hang out with them until bedtime and then I go inside and enjoy sleeping in my bed, which is dry and bugless. But we do campfires and smores, which are wonderfully fun.
Oooo. I am totally hooked on Downton Abbey, too! It's my little escape during my broken elbow recovery. :)
