Project Landscaping

I have been a busy bee!  A few months ago we decided to put all of our landscaping in ourselves (except for the sod and extra dirt).  We saved thousands doing it this way and I love gardening so it was a no-brainer.  

For the past 6 days, that is all I have been doing.  Here is a recap.

Planting and mulching finished.  Whew!  Now I just need you all to come over for a glass of lemonade on my porch (once I get some black rockers out there).  

The garden has lots of boxwood, hydrangea, peony and David Austin roses.  I stuck to a small list of different plants and planted a bunch of each to give the landscape a cohesive look.  

As I was mulching today I couldn't help but thank God for creating all of these beautiful plants for us to enjoy.  Their beauty is amazing and brings such peace and happiness.

Wood Floors, Tile and Cabinets

I returned from traveling last week and found our new home to be coming right along. Our wood floors were installed, sanded and stained.  They are nice and warm, without being too dark. I am happy.

The kids bath tile went in too.  

The kids' bathroom vanity arrived and is currently in ERHs bedroom. I brought in the shower curtain to be sure it went well with the wood.

The kitchen cabinets and mudroom cabinets are in the garage, awaiting install. I am excited to see it all in the house.

Progress Update

There is some progress on our home.  Right now the frame is boarded up until the Tyvek goes on.

The back view.  I love the minimalist look of just one door and no windows, don't you?  Ha.  It's ugly as sin right now.  

This is the view from the foyer into the living room and kitchen.

It has been exciting to see all of the interior rooms take shape. I can visualize so much more now. The roof trusses are coming tomorrow.  The forecast says we should have another 6 days of decent weather. Let's hope the roof is done before the snow arrives.
